Fort to Fort Remembrance Walk

Held on the first Sunday in November, The Fort to Fort Remembrance Walk was established in 2021 and is held to raise awareness of our defence community and other community groups, and to remind people the importance of Remembrance Day.

The Walk is from the carpark in front of Fort Largs, along the esplanade to Fort Glanville and back again.

The Walk is open for all ages and as it is on the footpath, people in wheelchairs and walkers can be involved in the Walk.

You are welcome to bring along your dogs, to join in the fun.

It is a leisurely walk along the foreshore, with many defence/community groups having displays. There is a trail bag for children to collect items from each group.

The groups include  Army/Navy/Aid Force/Frontiersmen cadet groups, Defence Recruiting, Barossa Light horse, Defence Support groups, local RSL groups and other community groups.

Posters of local veterans are located along the walk, where walkers can access each veterans information, via a QR reader to the Virtual War Memorial.

All money raised is shared between Operation K9 and the Largs Bay RSL Veterans' Centre.
